The TWX Motor Series with Integrated Drive, is also available with EtherCAT Industrial Ethernet module.

EtherCAT, is the next generation communication protocol, based on Ethernet and disclosed in the IEC standard IEC61158, enabling faster and wider Machinery and Automation Systems, 4.0 Industry oriented.

 EtherCAT allows high speed real time communication between Master PLC, Servo Motors, Encoders, and any other device on the fieldbus network, with up to 100 Mbit/s speed and 65,535 devices on the same fieldbus.

The TWX Motor Series EtherCAT module offers

  • 100 Mbit/s speed communication
  • 260 us minimum cycle time
  • 2 M12 IN/OUT ports with Daisy-chaining possibility
  • 2 LED for easy EtherCAT status reading
  • IP58 connectors protection

EtherCAT represents the future of communication in motion control and industrial automation, replacing the CAN Technology and CanOpen Protocol.

EtherCAT still support CanOpen: with the CoE protocol it provides the same communication and motion profiles like CiA 402, so a very large part of old CanOpen firmware, projects and software code can be reused.

TWX drives implement all the most common Motion Profiles according to International Standards:
